I have three of these pretty pendants, garnet, January's birthstone...oval cut and faceted 8x6mm stones measure 1.5ct....the pendant is sterling silver and 5/8x1/4"  It resembles and X O pattern with the garnet being O and the X being the bail, with a heart on the bottom, there is actually room to dangle a pearl or other stone through the bottom and string this pendant up in pearls, thats how I used them when I was making jewelry.
